Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about fresh food for your pup.

How is The Farmer's Dog food prepared?

Our recipes are developed by board-certified veterinary nutritionists and made with human-grade meats and vegetables. We cook the food at low temperatures in USDA-inspected kitchens to preserve nutrients and safety.

How does the subscription and shipping work?

We deliver your dog's fresh food on a recurring schedule based on their specific needs. Shipping is always free, and you can pause, skip, or cancel your subscription at any time through your customer portal.

Does the food need to be refrigerated?

Yes. Because our food is fresh and contains no preservatives, it must be stored in the refrigerator. You can keep unopened packs in the freezer for up to 6 months and in the fridge for up to 4 days once thawed.

How do I transition my dog to fresh food?

We recommend a gradual transition over 7 to 10 days. Start by mixing a small amount of The Farmer's Dog with your pup's current food, slowly increasing the fresh portion until the old food is completely replaced.

What is your return policy?

Since our food is a perishable product, we cannot accept returns. However, if your dog doesn't love their first order, we offer a full refund or will send you different recipes to try as part of our satisfaction guarantee.

Is the packaging eco-friendly?

Yes, our cardboard boxes are recyclable, and the insulation is made from cornstarch, which is biodegradable and can be dissolved in the sink under warm water.
